About Us

Schools Beyond Screens is a national coalition of parents and educators advocating for evidence-based guidelines around technology in the classroom. The organization consists of hundreds of independent, parent-led groups around the country working for change in their local districts.

The Winchester chapter was founded in spring 2026 by two concerned Winchester parents. This school year, our immediate goal is to push for three changes in Winchester Public Schools: transparency around screen time per grade level, age-appropriate individual screen time guidelines per grade level, and a one-year moratorium on generative AI in K-8 classrooms (with certain IEP/504 exceptions). Longer term, we plan to continue advocating for the adoption of safe and intentional technology policies in WPS. We welcome you to join us!
